London broil is a North American beef based food dish that is usually made by broiling or grilling marinated flank or round steak and then cutting it around the grain into thin strips. Top round roast or steak is also used. Before broiling or grilling, the meat needs to be tenderized first. Most people will say London broil needs to be marinated for an hour before broiling or grilling. And, in most cases, this is true. However, for those who enjoy a spicy flavor meal, here is a wonderful London broil with Chili Seasoning. And, the nice thing, it doesn’t need to be marinated for an hour.
London broil with Chili Seasonings
3 tablespoons oil
1 ½ tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
4 cloves garlic, crushed
¼ cup parsley
3 tablespoons chili powder
2 teaspoons cumin
3 teaspoons paprika
½ teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon crushed peppercorn
1 pinch cayenne pepper
1 ½ lbs London broil beef (flank steak)
Preheat the broiler and line the broiler pan with foil. In a small bowl combine Worcestershire sauce, garlic, oil, parsley, and other spices and mix well. Place the steak on the broiler pan and brush steak with half the mixture. Broil the steak four inches from the heat for 7 minutes. Turn the steak over and brush the other side with the remaining marinade and broil four inches from heat until well browned for 7 minutes for medium-rare, 9 minutes for medium and 11 minutes for well done. Let stand 5 minutes before slicing.
